How Tubular Daylighting Works
Solatube systems are engineered to do three things well: capture daylight, transfer it efficiently, and deliver it naturally into the room below.
Capture
Solatube collectors use advanced technology to maximize available daylight. A key differentiator is Raybender® 3000 Technology, a patented daylight-capturing dome lens designed to redirect low-angle sunlight for maximum light capture and provide more consistent daylighting throughout the day. The dome also incorporates a UV-inhibition to remove UV rays and protect interior finishes.
Transfer
Daylight then travels through Spectralight® Infinity Tubing, which transfers 99.7% of each light bounce and is by far the most reflective solution available. Solatube also integrates INFRAREDuction™ Technology in the tubing using a proprietary process to filter infrared wavelengths and minimize solar heat gain.
Deliver
At the ceiling, Solatube diffusers spread light across the room for a bright, natural feel. Solatube also offers decorative fixtures and add-ons, including ventilation, dimming, and nighttime lighting options depending on the configuration.

Why Daylight from Above Changes a Room
A window can make a room feel bright and allow the occupant to see outside, but perimeter daylight does not always reach deep into a space. Effective daylight from a side window penetrates a room about 1.5 times the height of the window from the floor. Past that point, many interiors rely more heavily on electric lighting. Tubular daylighting helps solve that gap by introducing daylight from above and distributing it through the space more broadly, and can brighten rooms without any windows such as a bathroom, hallway, or closet.

We confirm placement and routing options and optimize your system performance.
Step 3: Installation
We install the system with fast, efficient execution and minimal disruption. In fact, most installations only take about two hours.
Ventilation Solutions for Whole-House Comfort
Daylight is the core of what SolBright Skylights delivers, but we also offer ventilation solutions for your attic and garage.
Solar powered attic fans
Solatube solar-powered attic fans are designed to vent heat and moisture from the attic and continue providing ventilation into the evening with ClimaSense™ run-at-night technology on applicable models. For Florida installations, Solatube offers mounting and profile options, including a high-profile roof mount that meets Florida Building Code HVHZ requirements noted as FL14826.
Garage ventilation
For garages, workshops, and similar spaces, Solatube offers solar and electric fan configurations including roof-mount and interior-mount options, with models such as the ClimaSense™ Roof Mount 2400 and ClimaSense™ Interior Mount 1500 described in the ventilation materials. SolBright Skylights will recommend ventilation options based on your structure, roof type, and the way you use the space, with a focus on solutions that are practical and appropriate rather than overbuilt.

Common Questions About Tubular Skylights
What is Solatube tubular daylighting?
Solatube tubular daylighting is a system that captures daylight on the roof, transfers it through a reflective tube, and delivers it into the room through a ceiling diffuser. Solatube invented this type of skylight and offers the most popular and technically-advanced models available, supported by a network of authorized dealer/installers.
What rooms benefit most?
Interior rooms like hallways, bathrooms, closets, stairwells, pantries, and laundry rooms often see the biggest improvement because they have limited or no window access.
Does it work on cloudy days?
Yes. You can still get usable daylight in overcast conditions, though brightness varies by weather and system configuration.
How do you choose the right skylight system?
We guide selection through four decisions: system type, tube sizing and layout, collector profile, and ceiling fixture options. Recommendations are based on the room and the roof conditions.
What does a skylight install involve?
Most projects follow consultation, design, and installation. SolBright Skylights plans placement and routing, then our factory trained installers finish most jobs within 2-3 hours.
What warranties are included?
SolBright Skylights provides a 5-year installation warranty and a 10-year product warranty.
Do you offer financing or rebate guidance?
Yes. SolBright Skylights can help you explore financing pathways and identify local or statewide programs you may qualify for.
How long does it take to install a Solatube?
On average a Solatube Installation with SolBight Skylights takes just two hours or less!
What makes Solatube different from other tubular daylighting products?
Solatube uses branded technologies such as Raybender® 3000 Technology, a LightTracker Reflector, and Spectralight® Infinity Tubing designed to maximize daylight capture and transfer
